Obituary for Ruth Holadia Woodley

Ruth Holadia Woodley, 84, of Columbia died Saturday, January 1, 2011, at Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City.

Born December 13, 1926 in Tyrrell County she was the daughter of the late Joshua D. Holadia and Carrie Snell Holadia and was preceded in death by her brother, Cyrus Holadia; sisters, Grace H. Jackson Meekins and Bonnie Holadia.  Ruth was a retired administrative assistant with nineteen year's service with USDA Soil Conservation Service and member of Scuppernong Church of Christ.

Her family includes her husband of sixty-eight years Wallace Earnel Woodley of Columbia, N.C.; daughters, Connie W. Meekins of Salvo, N.C. and Bonnie W. Palomares of Columbia, N.C.; brother, Thomas Holadia and wife Dorothy of Engelhard, N.C.; grandchildren, Scott Meekins, Steven Flinchum and wife Melissa, Andrew Palomares and Jonathan Palomares and wife Megan; great grandchildren, Destiny Flinchum, Christopher Flinchum, Hunter Flinchum, Mallory Palomores, Sara Palomores and Christopher Palomores.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Scuppernong Church of Christ, Creswell with Cleve Edwards, Don Craft and Don Phelps officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Maitland Funeral Home and other times at the residence.  Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell.
