Obituary for William Charles 'Billy' Tetterton
William Charles 'Billy' Tetterton, 73, of Plymouth died Saturday, February 14, 2015, at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital in Tarboro. Born November 26, 1941 in Washington County he was the son of the late Robert D. Tetterton and Lillie Mae Styons Tetterton and was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Wayne Tetterton. Billy was co-owner of the 'Little Man' Restaurant for over forty years before his retirement and was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was a former fire chief with the Plymouth Fire Department, former member of the board of directors of Gateway Bank and Plymouth Country Club, assistant coach/sponsor and volunteer with the Plymouth Little League. His family includes his wife, Brenda Edwards Tetterton of Plymouth, N.C.; daughter, Shannon T. Long of Wilson, N.C.; sons, Randy William Tetterton of Spring Lake, N.C. and Glenn Scott Tetterton and wife Anisa of Clayton, N.C.; sisters, Betty Jo Jones of Charlotte, N.C., Brenda Bullock of Roper, N.C. and Debbie Comstock and husband Kenny of Chapel Hill,TN.; brothers, Jimmy Dale Tetterton of Kinston, N.C. and Jewell Tetterton and wife Kathryn of Plymouth, N.C.; grandchildren, Chase Long, Trent Tetterton and Kinsey Tetterton. Memorial service will be held Monday, February 16, 2015 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Plymouth with Reverend Jimmy Hagwood officiating. Family will receive friends on Monday, February 16, 2015 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers donations in Billy's memory may be made to Freedom Farm Ministries, Post Box 153, Boone, N.C. 28607 or Plymouth Fire Department. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
