Obituary for Wilbur Norman Sessoms
Wilbur Norman Sessoms, 67, of Plymouth died unexpectedly Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at his residence in Plymouth. Born December 31, 1944 in Wake County he is the son of Alexander Norman Sessoms and Wyona Churchill Sessoms who survive. Wilbur served from 1968 to 1979 with the N.C. Highway Patrol and later was employed by Weyerhaeuser Corporation as a fine paper supervisor for twenty-five years until his retirement in 2006. He served in the N.C. National Guard, was a Mason and member of Grace Episcopal Church. Besides his parents his family includes his fiance', Carol Modllin Waters of Plymouth, N.C.; sons, Ashley Norman Sessoms of Atlantic Beach, N.C. and Matthew Alexander Sessoms and wife Kimberly of Williamston, N.C.; daughter, Dana Waters Bowen of Southern Pines, N.C.; sisters, Joan S. Vaughn and Linda S. Collier of Raleigh, N.C.; grandchildren, Grace Sessoms, Mackenzie Bowen, Chloe Bowen, Collin Bowen and Reid Bowen. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth. Family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The American Heart Association. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
