Obituary for Virginia Heynen Tetterton
On August 22, 2016, this world lost a precious gem, Virginia Heynen Tetterton. She was currently a resident of Three Rivers Health and Rehabilitation in Windsor, NC. Born in Wenona, NC on June 24, 1934 to Carl and Ada Heynen. Virginia held a special place in the hearts of the many who knew her. One can look at the sun and wonder if God points it in the direction to shine upon one special soul for the world to see. That soul can be the most brilliant light in your life and in ours it was our Mother and Grandmother. Virginia was the best Wife, Mother and Grandmother that could ever have existed in this world. She was filled with the grandest love for her family, as they were her light and strength throughout her life. Even though her soul has returned home, her memory has been left in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.

Virginia was a valued employee of Branch Banking & Trust Company from 1952 to 1994, serving in various positions, retiring as Assistant Vice President. So many of her customers have shared stories with the family over the years of her warmth, patience and kindness during their times of need. She was very loved and respected by many in both her personal and professional life.

Virginia was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Osborne Dunbar, Leon Dunbar and a sister, Hazel Ange as well as her husband, Melvin Tetterton. She is survived by her three daughters, Gayle Critcher and husband Carl of Plymouth, NC, Melody Snoddy and husband Bryan of Kitty Hawk, NC, Joy Avery and husband Tim of Greenville, NC; three granddaughters, Emily Critcher, Natalie Johnston and husband TJ and Nicole Barnes and husband Brandon; one grandson, Tyler Avery and one great granddaughter, Hadleigh Barnes.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at Plymouth Church of Christ with Bob Moulden officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Plymouth Church of Christ and other times at the residence of her daughter Gayle Critcher. Immediately following committal service at the grave a meal and celebration of Virginia's life will be held at Plymouth Church of Christ Family Life Center.
