Obituary for Rachel Swain Holliday Comstock
Rachel Swain Holliday Comstock, 82, of Edenton and formerly of Plymouth died Sunday, May 20, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Born March 2, 1930 in Martin County she was the daughter of the late Hoyt Holliday and Frances Minnie Swain Holliday and was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Comstock; sisters, Maude H. Rogerson, Daisy H. Silverthorne, Frances H. Haislip, Velma H. Hollis, Annie H. Whitfield and Mamie H. Manning; brothers, J.D. Holliday, Johnnie Holliday, Dennis Holliday and Russell Holliday. Rachel was the owner of Rachel's Fabric Shop and a member of Hope Free Will Baptist Church. Her family includes her daughters, Trina C. Holliday and husband Phil of Jamesville, N.C., Darlene C. Keech and husband Tad of Pigeon Forge, TN., and Pam C. Leary and husband Barry of Edenton, N.C.; grandchildren, Callie Lynn VanHorn, Jason Britton Snell, Julia Crystal Lanier, Jerrica Swain Modlin, Natalie Michell Leary, Brian Joel Leary; great grandchildren, Hannah Grace Snell, Donald Sheldon Lanier, III and Shane Christopher Lanier. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Hope Free Will Baptist Church, Plymouth with Pastor Leonard Bowers officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Monday, May 21, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth and other times at the residence of her daughter, Trina Holliday. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
