Obituary for Norma June Phelps
Norma June Phelps, 88, passed away on May 3, 2022; beloved mother of Milton "Buster" Phelps and his wife, Sandy, Lynn Schnitzer and her husband, Jerry, Bill Phelps and his wife, Sue; pre-deceased by her nine brothers and sisters; cherished grandmother of Aaron Schnitzer, Adam Schnitzer, Lori Phelps, David Phelps, April Phelps, Shannon Phelps, Sandi Phelps, Joey Phelps, Danny Phelps, and Bella Phelps; great-grandmother of Alyssa Seay, Tyler Seay, Page Salvatore, Dillon Harmon and Matthew Harmon, .

Norma June was born on a farm in Creswell, NC and was married at age 14. Her life adventures took her to Norfolk, Virginia, Baltimore, Maryland, Chester, Pennsylvania, and then to Swarthmore, Pennsylvania where she lived for thirty years. When her children were grown, she relocated back to North Carolina before finally settling with her daughter in Baltimore, where she lived for thirty-three years.

Her many interests included motorcycles, boats and waterskiing on the Delaware River. She enjoyed going to the Y in Towson, Maryland where she had many friends. She loved board games, particularly Rummikub and Spite and Malice.

Norma lived a full life and was the epitome of a good Christian woman. She was known as a true lady. She had a way of making you feel safe, and was always a very kind and happy person.

The family will receive friends at the Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church in Timonium, MD on Sunday, May 8, 2022 from 5:30 - 6:30 pm at which time Mrs. Norma's life will be celebrated at 6:30 pm.

There will be a second visitation at Philippi Church of Christ, 74 Old Cherry Road, Creswell, NC on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at which time Mrs. Norma's life will be celebrated at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Don Phelps officiating.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed in Mrs. Phelps' memory to Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, 1010, Saters Lane, Timonium, MD 21093.

Arrangements are by Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc. and Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell.
