Obituary for Herman Edwin Everett, Sr.

Herman Edwin Everett, Sr., 84, of Roper died Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Roanoke Landing Health and Rehabilitation Center in Plymouth. Born September 24, 1927 in Washington County he was the son of the late William Alfred Everett and Jessie Phelps Everett and was preceded in death by his wife, Iris Jacqueline Bowen Everett; brothers, Johnnie Everett and Wesley Everett. Herman was a retired bridge and building mechanic with Norfolk and Southern Railroad, a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and member of Saints Delight Church of Christ. His family includes his daughters, Renee E. Spruill and husband Ronald; Faye E. Spence and husband Bobby and Gay E. Styons all of Plymouth, N.C., Michelle E. Crawford and husband John of Roper, N.C.; sons, Herman 'Eddie' Everett, Jr. and wife Brenda of Charlotte, N.C. and Neal Everett and wife Jeneane of Williamston, N.C.; sisters, Estelle E. Powell of Roper, N.C., Viola E. Zelum of Alice, TX and Shirley E. Crotty of Katy, TX.; brothers, Clifton Everett of Plymouth, N.C., Van B. Everett of Clovis, N.M. and William Everett of Little River, S.C.; grandchildren, Harry, Jarrod, Waylon, Alicia, Michael, Lauren, Amber, Courtney, Sabrina, Brandon, Charley Grace, Madison; great grandchildren, Riley and Javen. Funeral service will be held Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Saints Delight Church of Christ, Roper with Lloyd Davis and Thomas Biggs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 24, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth and other times at his daughter Renee Spruill's residence. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
