Obituary for George Clyde Williams, Jr.
George Clyde Williams, Jr., 93 of Plymouth died Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Roanoke Landing in Plymouth. Born January 15, 1920 in Pitt County he was the son of the late George Clyde Williams, Sr. and Sula Carson Williams and was preceded in death by his wife, Glendora Ange Williams; sisters, Myrtle W. Owens, Irma W. Killebrew and Susie W. Webb. George was a retired millwright with Weyerhaeuser Corporation, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and attended Mount Olive Free Will Baptist Church. His family includes his daughter, Margaret Williams Sugg and husband Roger of Plymouth, N.C.; son, George Clyde Williams, III and wife Linda of Jamesville, N.C.; grandchildren, David Williams, Erin Griffin and Sarah Sugg; great grandchildren, Eva Griffin and Jacksen Williams. Graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11:00 am at Hillside Memorial Gardens with Pastor Robert Travis officiating. Family will receive friends at the graveside following the service. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
