Obituary for Gail Spencer White
Gail Spencer White, 73, of Creswell died Sunday, January 17, 2016, at her residence in Creswell.

Born May 11, 1942 in Washington County she was the daughter of the late James Edward Spencer and Minnie Craddock Spencer and was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Willard White, Sr. Gail graduated from Plymouth High School in 1960 and graduated from Harrell's Hair Design in 1961. She was married to Jack Willard White, Sr. in 1970 whom she loved dearly. Gail farmed and participated in PTA for twenty-seven years, worked as Office Assistant at NCDA and NCSU since 2001. Gail was a member of Mount Hermon United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer for thirty plus years as well as UMW President and Sub District and District Offices, Sunday School Teacher and served on many committees. She served on the Washington County Library Board for six years and many years in Washington County Homemakers later Washington County Cooperative Extension as President of the County and served in several District Offices. She also served as 4-H Leader for the Cherry 4-H Club.

Gail lived for her family which includes her son, Jack Willard White, Jr. and wife Dawn of Creswell, N.C.; daughter, Buffy White Everette and husband Jason of Washington, N.C.; precious grandchildren, Jack W. White, III, Hannah McGowan, Jordan Hope White and Kyle Spencer Everette; sister/friend, Cathy Carter of Plymouth, N.C.; brother, James E. "Eddie" Spencer, Jr. of Elizabeth City, N.C.; brother-in-law, Jeff White of Creswell, N.C.; sisters-in-law, Martha Wilson of Elizabeth City, N.C,; Carolyn White Howard of Flagstaff, AZ., Nancy White of Salisbury, MD., Fran White Edmondson of Greenville, N.C.; nieces, Meredith Spencer Tynch, Jennifer Spencer Hunter, Jackie White Keyes, Terri White McHugh, Genna Howard and Christina White; mother of grandchildren, Debbie Head and husband Carl plus many cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Hermon United Methodist Church, Creswell with Reverend Tom Hallberg, Reverend David Craddock and Reverend Kevin Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mount Hermon United Methodist Church and other times at the residence. Flowers are always appreciated but if you choose to give a gift of donation please give it to Mount Hermon Cemetery Fund, c/o Gloria Davenport.
