Obituary for Edward Lee Champ
Edward Lee Champ, 78, of Roper died Monday, February 26, 2018, at Washington County Hospital in Plymouth.
Born October 12, 1939 in Princeton, West Virginia he was the son of the late Ira Lee Champ and Minnie Grogan Anderson Champ and was preceded in death by his wife, Lottie Stanley Champ and son, Henry Kenny Champ. Mr. Champ was the owner and operator of Champ's Septic Cleaning Service for over thirty years and was a member of Light House Assembly of God.
His family includes his son, Edward Lee Champ, Jr. of Roper, N.C.; daughters, Marzella Champ Beacham and husband Jeff of Jamesville, N.C., Minnie Champ Micchelli and husband Steve of Plymouth, N.C., Patty Champ Congleton and husband Kenny of Petersburg, VA., Samantha Champ Keel and husband Timothy of Jamesville, N.C. and Lisa Champ Furlough and husband Kevin of Plymouth, N.C.; nineteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth with Pastor Ben Bunch and Pastor Dennis Barber officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at Maitland Funeral Home and other times at the residence of his daughter Lisa at 166 Westhaven Drive, Plymouth.
