Obituary for Diane Morris Clark
Delores "Diane" Morris Clark, 87, of Woodland, NC, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2022, with her family by her side.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Preston Clark; parents, Aydlett and Elizabeth Morris of Lake Phelps, NC, and her sister, Kay Ragland (Tommy) of New Bern, NC. She leaves her cherished memories to her sister, Fay Leary (Wayne) of Shawboro, NC; sons, Joe Clark (Paula) of Greenville, NC, John Clark (Karen) of College Station, TX, Jason Clark of Ahoskie, NC; daughter, Janie Narron (Scott) of Chesterfield, VA, and niece Liz Murphy with daughter Savannah of New Bern, NC She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Amber Wood (Terry), Monica Carson (Daniel), Madison Clark, Logan Clark, Gretchen Clark, Kayla Horner (Stephen), Matthew Narron, and Emma Clark. In addition, she leaves behind five great grandchildren; Kylie Wood, James Wood, Preston Carson, Timothy Daniel, and Charlie-James Horner.

Diane led an amazing life full of service, faith, and love towards her family and community. She enjoyed spending time during annual family beach trips playing piano, reading books, and always cooking for family gatherings.

She graduated from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC with a Bachelor of Music. Upon graduation she taught music at the School for the Blind in Baltimore, Maryland. During this time, she met her future husband James Clark, and they eventually established a home in Woodland, NC. She later received her Master of Special Education from East Carolina University then worked and retired from the Northampton County Mental Health Department. Diane served as the Minister of Music for 52 years at Woodland Baptist Church in addition to serving as a Sunday School teacher and deacon.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at the Woodland Baptist Church in Woodland, NC, with the Rev. Dr. J. Brabban officiating. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. at Sound Side Missionary Baptist Church in Columbia, NC.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Diane's home church of Woodland Baptist at 112 W. Main Street, Woodland, NC 27897.
