Obituary for Aubrey Rudolph Woodley
Aubrey Rudolph Woodley, 84, of Chesapeake, Virginia died Thursday, February 7, 2013 at his residence in Chesapeake. Born February 23, 1928 in Washington County he was the son of the late Seaton Woodley and Lucinda Hassell Woodley and was preceded in death by his sister, Levora Swain; brothers, Caswell Woodley and Everett Woodley. Aubrey was a retired office manager with Exxon Corporation, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and member of Scuppernong Church of Christ. His family includes his wife, Alice Davenport Woodley of Chesapeake, Va.; son, Aubrey R. Woodley, Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughters, Deborah W. Simmons and husband Harvey of Chesapeake, Va. and Teresa Woodley of Chesapeake, Va.; sister, Maxine W. Phelps of Roper, N.C.; brothers, Wallace Woodley of Columbia, N.C. and Hanson Woodley of Roper, N.C.; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Scuppernong Church of Christ, Creswell with Cleve Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 10, 2013 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at Scuppernong Church of Christ. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell.
