Obituary for Edward Horace Hardison
Edward Horace "Dude" Hardison, 82, of Plymouth died Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington.

Born August 23, 1933 in Martin County he was the son of the late Joseph Earl Hardison and Mildred Swinson Hardison and was preceded in death by his first wife, Gail Hardison Hardison; son-in-law, Van Johnson and brother, Joseph Hardison. Horace was a retired maintenance supervisor with Weyerhaeuser Corporation, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and member of First Baptist Church.

His family includes his wife, Wilma Davenport Hardison of Plymouth, N.C.; daughters, Deborah H. Johnson of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., Lora H. Craddock of Plymouth, N.C. and Gretchen H. Maloney and husband Thomas of Greenville, N.C.; brother, Jimmy Hardison of Jamesville, N.C.; sisters, Joan H. Puckett and Brenda H. Skiles both of Plymouth, N.C., Jean H. Gurganus of Williamston, N.C. and Mary H. Waters of Roper, N.C.; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Monday, June 6, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Plymouth with Reverend Jimmy Hagwood officiating. Burial will follow in Windley Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 5, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church, Parking Lot Fund, 309 Washington Street, Plymouth, N.C. 27962.
