Obituary for Lewis Henry Sullivan
Lewis Henry Sullivan, 86, of Plymouth died Friday, May 24, 2013, at his residence in Plymouth. Born February 8, 1927 in Beaufort County he was the son of the late Joseph Moye Sullivan and Sarah Boyd Sullivan and was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Irene Windley Sullivan; brothers, Joseph Sullivan and Cecil Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan was a retired stock prep operator with Weyerhaeuser Corporation, a gentleman farmer and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a lifelong member of Plymouth First Original Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and elder for many years. His family includes his daughters, Phyllis S. Cahoon of Plymouth, N.C. and Thelma S. Lilley of Williamston, N.C.; sons, Wilmer 'Weasel' Sullivan and friend Tina of Roper, N.C. and Brian 'Buddy' Jones and wife Caroline of Culpeper, Va.; sisters, Janice S. Wright and Mildred S. Waters of Bath, N.C.; brothers, Lee Sullivan of Waycross, Ga., Lester Sullivan, Larry Sullivan and Gary Sullivan all of Bath, N.C.; four grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Plymouth First Original Free Will Baptist Church, Plymouth with Dr. Bobby R. Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Monday, May 27, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Plymouth First Original Free Will Baptist Church and other times at the residence. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to the Lewis and Ethel Sullivan Endowment at Mt. Olive College, 634 Henderson St. Mt. Olive, N.C. 28365. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
