Obituary for Myra Furlough Marriner
Myra Furlough Marriner, 88, of Roper died Monday, November 19, 2012, at Washington County Hospital in Plymouth. Born April 23, 1924 in Washington County she was the daughter of the late David Cecil Furlough and Blanche Furlough and was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Edward Marriner, Sr.; daughter, Lyvonne M. Hassell; brothers, Herbert R. Furlough and William C. Furlough. Mrs. Myra was a retired supervisor with Plymouth Garment Company and member of Roper Pentecostal Holiness Church. Her family includes her daughters, Shirley M. Edwards and Hester M. Collier of Roper, N.C., Elaine M. Williams and husband James of Gaithersburg, MD.; son, Otis E. Marriner, Jr. and wife Pam of Richmond, VA; sister, Ramona F. Downs of Chesapeake, VA.; thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Roper Pentecostal Holiness Church, Roper. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens, Plymouth. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Roper Pentecostal Holiness Church and other times at her daughter Hester's residence. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
