Obituary for Doris Savage Waters
Doris Savage Waters, 81, of Plymouth died Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. Born March 21, 1930 in Washington County she was the daughter of the late William Marshall Savage and Mary Ambrose Savage and was preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years, Guy Randolph 'Randy' Waters, whom she married on August 16, 1957. Doris was a 1948 graduate of Williamston High School. She began her working career with Carolina Telephone and later worked for Weyerhaeuser Corporation as a timberlands accounting clerk until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of Macedonia Christian Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for fifty years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, fishing and vacations at the beach. Her family includes her daughter, Mary Waters 'Lib' Davis and husband Brian of Asheboro, N.C.; son, Guy Randolph Waters, Jr. and wife Padgette of Nashville, N.C.; grandchildren, Morgan Leigh Waters of Cary, N.C., Katherine Paige Waters of Nashville, N.C. and Nicole Elaine Davis of Asheboro, N.C.; sisters, Ruby S. Harris and husband Dillon 'Jap' of Plymouth, N.C. and Marsha S. Anderson of Williamston, N.C.; sisters-in-law, Dorothy W. Gentry of Jacksonville, N.C., Helen W. Bass of Jamesville, N.C., Jackie W. Davis and husband Gus of Morehead City, N.C. and Rachel W. Craddock and husband Louis of Jamesville, N.C. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth with Doug Stokes officiating. Family will receive friends following the service in the funeral home reception room and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Jamesville Christian Church Building Fund, 1134 St. Andrews Street, Jamesville, N.C. 27846. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
