Obituary for Linwood Earl Ambrose
Linwood Earl Ambrose, 77, of Roper died Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at his residence in Roper.

Born May 10, 1942 in Pitt County he was the son of the late Wilson Eldridge Ambrose and Sudie Lewis Ambrose and was preceded in death by his sisters, Emma A. Biggs, Janis A. Smith, Peggy A. Spruill, Eula A. Watson and Margaret A. Harrell; brothers, Robert Ambrose, Gene Ambrose, William Ambrose and Henry Stanley Ambrose. Earl retired from Weyerhaeuser Corporation where he worked in maintenance and was a carpenter. He was a member of Gospel Light Church of Christ, was a U.S. Army veteran and past member of the Plymouth Moose Lodge.

His family includes his wife, Doris Ann Price Ambrose of Roper, N.C.; daughters, Kristi Ambrose Clark and husband Jesse of Washington, N.C. and Melissa Corvin Brown of Crewe, VA.; son, Jeremy Earl Ambrose of Pinetown, N.C.; sisters, Shelvia A. Owens and Ruth A. Styons both of Plymouth, N.C.; grandchildren, Chase Ambrose, Levi Ambrose, Alexis Ambrose, Coen Clark and Kately Webb.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Gospel Light Church of Christ with Jim Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gospel Light Church of Christ and other times at the residence.

Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
