Obituary for Lawrence Truman Smith
Lawrence Truman "Larry" Smith, 72, of Creswell died Saturday July 7, 2018, at his daughter's residence in Windsor.

Born August 1, 1945 in Tyrrell County he was the son of the late Ernest W. Smith and Alice Cahoon Smith and was preceded in death by his brothers, William Douglas Cahoon, Charles Christopher Smith and Gene Leon Smith. Larry retired with 34 years service as maintenance supervisor with Washington County Public School's, was a U.S. Navy veteran and member of Faith Christian Fellowship.

His family includes his wife, Linda Lambeth Smith of Creswell, N.C.; daughter, Lisa S. Barnes and husband James of Windsor, N.C.; sons, Todd Smith and wife Virginia of Edenton, N.C. and Lance Smith and wife Charlotte of Lewiston, N.C.; brothers, Vance David Smith of Pinetown, N.C. and Lonnie Wade Smith of Williamston, N.C.; grandchildren, Brandon Barnes, Kyle Barnes and wife Elizabeth, Jared Speight, Jesse Speight, Megan Coltrain and husband Nick, Brianna Smith, Misty Dail, Miranda Keown and Lauren Smith; great grandchildren, Zoey, Taylor, Carney and Tamir.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell with James Barnes officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service and other times at the residence of his daughter Lisa.

Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell.
