Obituary for Raymond Earl Daniels, Jr.

Raymond Earl Daniels, Jr. died at the age of 52.  He was the best father to his only child, Rae Daniels, the best son to his mother and father, Diane Kiel and Raymond Daniels, Sr., and the best brother to his sister, Kathryn Daniels.  He was so loved and cherished by everyone he crossed paths with.  Ray will be missed eternally by the family who survive him.

Raymond Daniels, Jr. was also known as "Chatterbox" by his loved ones.  He was born on a rainy day in North Carolina.  He was the joy and the light of his mother's eye and her bouncing baby boy.

He loved trucks ever since he could remember.  All his life, anything with wheels caught his eye.  He had a passion for trucks, cars, motorcycles, RVs, you name it; if it had an engine and wheels, he could fix it.

For many years, he lived in Virginia Beach with his daughter and worked as the proud sole driver of Louie's hauling.  He loved driving a truck and providing for his family unit.  He lived a full life in Virginia Beach with many memories of sitting by a fire surrounded by friends.

What most knew and loved about Ray was his love for music.  In childhood, he always had an affinity for the guitar and a good record.  Good music was the beat in his heart.  He loved listening to live music with his many friends, and everyone loved  listening to music and dancing with him.  In music is where his soul will live forever.

Near the end of his life, he moved home to his father, Raymond Daniels, Sr.  He was a joy to his father and a wonderful helping hand around the house.  His final resting place will be in the cemetery on the family farm, as were his wishes.

He was a wonderful and loving person.  He was an accepting, respectful human being and a good man, and his warmth and compassion touched everyone who knew him.

He died much too young and will be sorely missed by all of his loved ones.  Look for Chat in thunderstorms and good music.  He will watch over the ones he loves until they one day are reunited.  Please share any photos or memories you may have of or with Ray Daniels, Jr. with his daughter, as she believes his memory will live on through the good memories he shared with his friends and family.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
