Obituary for Edna Ward Bland
Edna Ward Bland, 88, of Williamston died Thursday, February 1, 2018, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Born January 7, 1930 in Tyrrell County, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Irdell Ward and Martha Dillon Ward and was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Hubert Bland; brothers-in-law, John S. "Onnie" Ward and Dennis "Peanut" Bateman. Edna was a retired Avon Representative and member of Williamston Memorial Baptist Church where she served as a former deacon, Sunday School teacher and Sunbeam teacher. She was a member of the Golden Girl's and taught Vacation Bible School for many years.

Her family includes her daughter, Angela Bland Wynn and husband Curtis of Williamston, N.C.; son, Roy Glenn Bland and wife Barbara of Williamston, N.C.; sisters, Faye W. Ward of Virginia Beach, VA., Joyce W. Bateman and Sharon W. Maitland both of Columbia, N.C.; grandchildren, Kelly Meetze and husband Jacob and Jennifer Haislip and husband Christopher; great grandchildren, Sarah Kate, Jake, Gabe, Drew and Maddie; step-grandchildren, Chasity Draper and husband David and Josh Edmondson and wife Kendal; step-great grandchildren, Logan, D.J., Chance and Faith.

Funeral service will be held Monday, February 5, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Williamston Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Robbie Parker, Pastor Jason Braswell and Associate Pastor Dean Harrell officiating. Burial will follow in Martin Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Monday, February 5, 2018 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at Williamston Memorial Baptist Church and other times at the residence..

Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
