Reva Faye Payne Roberson, 67, of Plymouth, died Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.

Born February 10, 1954 in Beaufort County she was the daughter of the late Spencer Everette Payne and Mattie Lee Mooney Payne. Reva was employed with the Washington County Board of Education where she took an early retirement to take care of her grandchildren. She was a member of the Plymouth Church of Christ.

Her family includes her husband, Harold E. Roberson of 47 years, her daughter Wendy Roberson Boyd and husband Mike of Plymouth; her son Eric Lanier Roberson of Grimesland, NC; grandchildren, Gavin Boyd, Chloe Grace Boyd, Callie Boyd, and Bailey Peed all of Plymouth, NC, Jaxon Roberson and Adalynn Roberson both of Nashua, New Hampshire; her sisters, Nora Payne Marshall of Englehard, NC, and Betty Payne Black and husband Ronnie Black of Plymouth, NC; brothers, John Matthew Eakes, Sr. of Fairfield, NC, and Wiley Thompson Payne and wife Barbara of Plymouth, NC; sister in laws, Lois Jean Tetterton and husband Don of Creswell, NC, Becky Edwards and husband Jim of Colerain, NC, Cindy O'Neal and husband Joey of Hatteras, NC, Faye Roberson of Plymouth, NC; brother in laws, Freddie Roberson and wife Anita of Bear Grass, NC, and Carroll Roberson and wife Joyce of Roper, NC. Three brother in laws preceded in death; Wayne Marshall, Virgil Roberson and Eddie Roberson.

A devoted wife, mother and "Mema" which came natural to Reva. She loved her family with all that she was. Retirement came early when she found out that she was going to be a Mema for the first time. One of her favorite jobs was being Mema. She loved going on school trips, ball games, trips to the beach, vacations and whatever adventure the grandchildren would take her on. She never missed an opportunity for a picture at any special event with the Grandchildren.

Many came to know and love Reva when she opened up her home to the community for Halloween and Christmas. She started the Roberson's Angels 10 years ago by allowing the community to come to her house to have pictures taken with Santa for a donation. The donations were always put right back in the community at Christmas.

A celebration of life will be held, Sunday, September 12th 2021 at 3:00 pm at Plymouth Church of Christ in the Family Life Center. Jay Hardison will be officiating the service. The family visitation will follow the celebration of life.

Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
