Obituary for Gregory Steven Hardison
Gregory Steven Hardison of Jamesville, affectionately called "Uncle G", by his nieces and nephews who loved him dearly, went to be with his Lord on April 18, 2017.

Born on February 22, 1967, Greg was the precious son of Jean and Bobby Hardison of Jamesville, NC. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edna and Edward Stevenson and Gladys and Aubrey Hardison and his uncle, Jimmy Stevenson.

Greg's family includes his parents, Jean and Bobby Hardison of Jamesville, NC; one sister, that he loved dearly, Kimberly Hardison Hill and husband Norman of Jamesville, NC; his nieces and nephews, Tyler Mark Clifton and wife Dale and children, Chloe and Chase, Bobby Steven Clifton and son Connor and Holly Rebekan Thornton were the love of his life and last but by no means the least his best friend and constant companion "Brodie", his beloved dog.

He is also survived by three aunts, Diane Reason and husband Bobby, Nell Hardison and husband Mitchell and Margaret Boyd and one uncle, Curtis Stevenson.

Greg worked twenty-eight years with American Airlines and was fortunate enough to see the world by his travels and made many many friends. A co-worker, who is in Paris texted us that "Tonight the Eiffel Tower twinkles in memory of Greg Hardison" and sent a picture of the tower. She also said, "we loved him very much and he was a special friend."

Graduating from Jamesville High School in 1985, he had some wonderful years with his classmates and friends. He loved sports and was a very good athlete. In 1984 his baseball team and football team won 1A State Championship, wow, how proud and then in 1985 again his baseball team won the 1A State Championship. This was quite an accomplishment and he was so proud to be a part of this. So many wonderful memories.

After graduation from high school, Greg continued his education at the University of North Carolina and graduated with a BS degree in Business. Greg was a devoted Carolina Fan and was happy when they won the National Championship this year. Greg loved learning and was constantly taking online classes. Just in the last two weeks he was accepted in a Nuclear Medicine Program. His plan was to move to Winston Salem to pursue this program and also continue his work with the Airlines until he could retire.

Greg gave his life to Jesus when he was twelve years old. He joined the Jamesville Christian Church. He enjoyed the evangelist, Joyce Meyers, and followed her sermons online. Greg believed as she did, "It is impossible to be happy if you do not get your mind off yourself and start reaching out to help someone else" and most important, "The amazing thing about Jesus is that he includes everyone in his circle of love and grace. He excludes no one. We are all his precious children."

Memorial service will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth with Reverend Doug Stokes officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service and other times at the residence of his parents.

Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to the Jamesville Rescue and Fire Department.

The family wants to thank everyone for being so generous in loving us, gifts of food, flowers and cards. We are so ever thankful to be a part of such wonderful people. Thank you again for all that you have done. Greg would have been so proud.
