Obituary for William Blake Blackburn
William Blake "Billy" Blackburn, 87, of Plymouth died Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Born January 20, 1930 in Columbia, S.C. he was the son of the late Ambrose Blake Blackburn and Pauline Worrell Blackburn and was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Floyd Blackburn; son-in-law, Jeff "Zap" Harrell; brothers, Jack Conrad Blackburn and Julian Paul Blackburn. Billy was a retired magistrate with the office of the Washington County Clerk of Superior Court with thirty-five years service and a member of First Christian Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and with U.S. Merchant Marines, was a founding member of Plymouth Presbyterian Church, a past master and member of Perseverance Lodge No. 59 and a Shriner.
His family includes his daughter, Elizabeth Blackburn "Beth" Winstead and husband Timmy of Washington, N.C.; grandchildren, William Edwards, Jack Harrell Winstead and Christina Harrell Winstead.
Celebration of life will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth. Family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to charity of choice in Billy's memory.
