Obituary for William Virgil Roberson
William Virgil Roberson, 64, of Plymouth died Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at his residence in Plymouth. Born January 2, 1950 in Washington County he was the son of the late Marvin Lanier Roberson and Chloe Hardison Roberson and was preceded in death by his brother, Eddie Roberson. Virgil was a retired technician, manager and instructor with Xerox Corporation and a U.S. Army Veteran with service in Vietnam. He was an adult leader with the Boy Scouts in Williamston and Virginia Beach for over 20 years and an avid hunter and fisherman. His family includes his wife, Faye Mobley Roberson of Plymouth, N.C.; son, David Roberson and wife Lori of Richmond, Va.; sisters, Lois Jean Tetterton of Creswell, N.C., Becky Edwards of Colerain, N.C. and Cindy O'Neal of Hatteras, N.C.; brothers, Freddie Roberson of Bear Grass, N.C., Harold Roberson of Plymouth, N.C. and Carroll Roberson of Roper, N.C.; grandchildren, Nathan Roberson and Abby Roberson. Memorial service will be held Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 11:00 am at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth with Reverend Jimmy Hagwood officiating. Family will receive friends on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the funeral home following the service and other times at the residence. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to your local Boy Scout Troop, Friends of Scouting or First Baptist Church of Plymouth. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
