Obituary for William Emment Hoggard

William Emment Hoggard, 71 of Plymouth died Friday, December 18, 2015, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington.

Born January 26, 1944 in Martin County he was the son of the late Jim Allen Hoggard and Thelma Raynor Hoggard who survives and was preceded in death by his daughter, Margaret Jean Fleming; sister, Stella Hoggard Rogerson and brother, Richard Allen Hoggard. William retired from Weyerhaeuser Corporation as a heavy equipment operator, was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and a member of the Assembly of God.

His family includes his mother, Thelma Raynor Hoggard of Windsor, N.C.; wife, Shirley Phelps Hoggard of Plymouth, N.C.; sons, Thomas William Fleming and wife Kathy of Timpson, TX., Julian Russell Fleming and wife Constance of Creswell, N.C. and James Carroll Fleming and wife Rachel of Perrytown, N.C.; daughters, Anita Ann Fleming of Edenton, N.C., Robin Sue Krantz and husband Gerald of Lynchburg, VA., Teresa Gail Clifton and husband Alan of Creswell, N.C.; brothers, George Hoggard and wife Deborah of Cherokee, OK. and Jim Hoggard, Jr. and wife Deborah of Windsor, N.C.; sisters, Patricia Hoggard Burden and husband Jesse of Windsor, N.C., Terry Hoggard Adams and husband Ray of Merry Hill, N.C. and Bonnie Hoggard Wright of Windsor, N.C.; sixteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth with Randy Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery in Windsor. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
