William Carl Walker, Jr., 71, of Plymouth, died Friday, November 25, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born October 16, 1951 in Beaufort County he was the son of the late William Carl Walker, Sr. and Lou Mixon Walker and was preceded in death by his brother, Allen Walker and step-mother, Charlotte Allen Walker. William was a retired millwright with Weyerhaeuser and Domtar with forty-five years' service and co-owner of the Golden Skillet with his wife Gerri. He was a member of Perseverance Lodge No. 59 AF & AM of Plymouth, President of the 415 Operating Engineers Union for many years and attended Plymouth Church Of The Nazarene.
He enjoyed many hobbies when not helping Gerri in the family business which included, sailing, motorcycle riding, wood work and music. His most passionate hobby was flying and he achieved obtaining his pilot's license at age 60, which became a dream come true for him.
William was very thankful for his family and he leaves behind his loving wife, Geraldine Davenport Walker of Plymouth, NC; daughter, Christina W. Windley and husband Frankie of Washington, NC; sons, William C. Walker, III of Raleigh, NC, Joshua T. Walker and friend Ranikka and Mark D. Walker and wife Sabrina both of Plymouth, NC; grandchildren, Braxton and Peyton Walker, Neviah Walker, Kurtis Miller and Dylan Windley; sisters, Betty Bowen and husband Mike of Plymouth, NC and Pat Czech and husband Joe of Milton, FL; brothers-in-law, Bill Hoffman and wife Teresa, Eddie Davenport and wife Susan, Larry Gaddis and wife Joyce, Robert Davenport, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at First Christian Church with Pastor Steve Creech officiating. Masonic Rites by Perseverance Lodge No. 59, AF & AM will follow the memorial service. Family will receive friends at the church following the service and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Shriner's Hospital in memory of William.
