Obituary for William B. 'Bill' Reynolds

Mr. William Borden "Bill" Reynolds, 74, of Manteo died peacefully Thursday, May 6, 2010, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was deeply loved by all his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Born June 2, 1935 in Edgecombe County, he was the son of the late Arthur Reynolds and Mae Newsome Reynolds and was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Peggy Reynolds; sisters, Belle Marie Finch, Lena Mae Spyker and Laurette Reynolds; brothers, Raymond Reynolds, Allen Reynolds, Charles Ray Reynolds and Louis Reynolds. Bill was a self-employed appliance and television technician and member of Roanoke Island Presbyterian Church.
His family includes his wife, Patsy Thompson Reynolds of Manteo N.C.; daughter, Cathy Staples and husband Howard of Trinity, N.C.; step-daughter, Darlene Bohannon and husband Bill of Currituck, N.C.; sons, David Reynolds and wife Linda of Wanchese, N.C., Brian Reynolds of Raleigh, N.C., Glenn Reynolds and wife Vivian of Manteo, N.C., Mike Reynolds and wife Lynn of Manteo, N.C.; step-son, Lt. Col. Darrell Thomsen and wife Kitty of Atlanta, Ga.; brother, Leslie Reynolds and wife Jean of Rocky Mount, N.C.; father-in-law, John Thompson, Sr. of Manteo, N.C.; brother-in-law, Buddy Thompson of Manteo, N.C.; twenty grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two nieces.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 6:00 pm at Roanoke Island Presbyterian Church, Manteo. Everyone is invited to bring a covered dish for food and fellowship together in memory of Bill. Flower baskets and potted plants are welcome to be used in a memory garden for Bill. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell.
