Obituary for Vaudie Crotts Murph
Vaudie Crotts Murph, 88, of Plymouth died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Washington County Hospital in Plymouth. Born August 12, 1924 in Lexington, N.C. she was the daughter of the late Edward Lee Crotts and Annie Staley Crotts and was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Murph, sisters, Clatie Dorsett, Arlene Troutman and Girt Furr; brothers, Clifford Crotts and James Crotts. Mrs. Vaudie was co-owner of Murph's Tire Serivice of Plymouth and member of Mackey's United Methodist Church. Her family includes her daughters, Harlan Phipps of Georgetown, S.C., Sharon Yates of Cary, N.C.; sons, Larry Murph and wife Alice, Fred Murph and wife Delores, Artie Murph and wife Loretta all of Plymouth, N.C., Darrell Murph and wife Kimmy of Grimesland, N.C.; sister, Dot Callahan of Lexington, N.C.; brother, Clinnie Crotts of Lexington, N.C.; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth with Arnold Pressey, Frank Alexander and Gene Waters officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Friday, June 28, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm at Maitland Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to Mackey's United Methodist Church. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
