Obituary for Tina Maurice McClain
Tina Maureece McClain, 51, of Columbia died Thursday, January 24, 2013, at her residence in Columbia. Born July 24, 1961 in Washington County she was the daughter of Dale Everett McClain and wife Shirley of Vinton, Iowa and Mary Spruill McClain of Windsor, N.C. who survive and was spreceded in death by her sistr, Mary Jane Mcclain; niece, Brittany McClain and nephew, Joseph McClain. Tina was a graduate of College of the Albemarle and Elizabeth City State University where she earned her master's degree. She was a case worker with the N.C. Department of Corrections in Columbia and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Her family includes besides her parents, her husband, James V. Gibson of Columbia, N.C.; daughters, Stephanie Cahppell and fiance' Stephen and Brandi Smyth and husband, Charles both of Columbia, N.C., Jamie Gibson of Greenville, N.C. and Thomasina Gibson of Roper, N.C.; sisters, Wanda Manning of Pantego, N.C., Billie Jo McClain of Vinton, IA and Toni Rice of Bloomington, IN.; step-sisters, Delila Happel and Jodi Mehlert of Vinton, IA.; brothers, Toby McClain of Columbia, N.C., Joe Davenport and Michael Davenport both of Windsor, N.C.; nieces, Carie Wall, Casie Hoggard, Amanda Arnold, Jade McClain, Hannah McClain, Moriah Schilde; nephews, Elmer Squires, Jeffrey Manning, Noah Manning, Levi McClain, Shane Chalnder, Cortland Giger, Jessie Lennox and Cody McClain. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell with Pastor Ashby Browder officiating. Family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home following the service and other times at the residence. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell.
