Obituary for Thomas Rudolph Harris
Thomas Rudolph Harris, 80, of Plymouth died Friday, September 25, 2015 at his residence in Plymouth.
Born November 27, 1934 in Washington County he was the son of the late Fletcher Harris and Vonnie Blount Harris and was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Perry Harris and brother, Gene G. Harris. Thomas was a retired timber cruiser with Weyerhaeuser Corporation and Georgia-Pacific and a member of First Christian Church of Plymouth. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
His family includes his wife, Barabara Bowen Harris of Plymouth, N.C.; daughters, Julie Harris Jordon and Jamie Harris Lilley and husband Danny both of Jamesville, N.C.; sisters, Shirley H. Tharrington of Fayetteville, N.C. and Joyce H. Helms of New Smyrna Beach, Florida and four grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 1:30 pm at Windley Cemetery in Plymouth with Reverend V. Tom Banks officiating. Family will receive friends at the graveside following the service and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Christian Church.
Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
