Obituary for Sherilyn Curran Hassell
Sherilyn "Mema" Curran Hassell, 75, of Jamesville died on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Born June 6, 1942 in Reno, Nevada, she was the daughter of the late William Francis Curran and Delores Brownell Kuntz and was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Eugene Hassell and sister, Kathy C. Guerrero. Mrs. Hassell was a retired hospital dietician and later worked as an Avon representative. She was a member of Hope Free Will Baptist Church in Plymouth.
Her family includes her sons, William Shawn Hassell of Lincoln, CA., James Scott Hassell and wife Darlene of Jamesville, N.C., Carroll Eugene Hassell of Williamston, N.C. and Jake Pribble of Truckee, CA.; sisters, Wilana C. Pribble of Fallon, NV. and Shauna C. Wilkerson of Plains, MT.; grandchildren, Laura Boehle, Jennifer Steele and husband Norman, William Hassell and wife Tiffany, Kyle Hassell, Sarah Rawls, Matthew Hassell, Jake Hassell and Ryan Braddock; great grandchildren, Kendal, Taylor, Ethyn, Conner, Austyn, Bradley and Fynlee.
Memorial service will be held Sunday, February 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Hope Free Will Baptist Church, Plymouth with Pastor Leonard Bowers officiating. Family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of her granddaughter, Jennifer Steele. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hope Free Will Baptist Church "Summer Youth Camp".
