Obituary for Ronald 'D' Howard
Ronald 'D' Howard, 62, of Plymouth died Saturday, July 27, 2013 at his residence in Plymouth. Born April 30, 1951 in Ames, Iowa he was the son of the late Roger Howard and survived by his mother, Anita Longardner Howard. Ron was a retired atomic reactor operator with Maine Yankee Atomic Power, a U.S. Navy nuclear submarine veteran and member of Plymouth United Methodist Church. His family includes his mother, Anita Longardner Howard of Cherokee, Iowa; his wife, Bonita Bernier Howard of Plymouth, N.C.; daughter, Hayley H. Taffer and husband Anthony of Plymouth, N.C.; son, Matthew R. Howard and fiance' Kristie of Simpson, N.C.; sister, Jo Ann Thomas of Cedar Rapids, Indiana.; brothers, Roy Howard of Cherokee, Iowa and John Howard of Spirit Lake, Iowa; grandchildren, Raelynn Taffer, Haven Howard, Brooklyn Taffer, Jeryn Lambries, Brianna Lambries, Cody Taffer and Shelby Howard. Memorial service will be held Sunday, July 28, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Plymouth United Methodist Church. Family will receive friends at the church fellowship hall following the service. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
