Obituary for Robert Gordon Ange, Sr.
Robert Gordon Ange, Sr., 83, of Jamesville died Thursday, October 20, 2016, at his residence in Jamesville.
Born January 11, 1933 in Washington County he was the son of the late Joseph Leon Ange and Rose Hooker Ange and was preceded in death by his sisters, Frances Dorsey, Sarah Meyers, Gloria Ange , Helen Ange and Dolly Watson; brothers, Joe Ange and Gene Ange. Robert was a retired sales representative with East Carolina Supply and a member of First Christian Church and attended Jamesville Christian Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, former member of the Plymouth Town Council, The Jaycees and was a Cub Scout master for many years.
His family includes his wife, Dorothy Roberson Ange of Jamesville, N.C.; daughter, Amy Ange Modlin and husband Phil of Jamesville, N.C.; sons, Robbie G. Ange and wife Doris of Bath, N.C. and Rodney L. Ange of Danville, Va.; sisters, Estelle A. Watson and Geraldine A. Morgan both of Clearwater, FL.; brother, Kelly Ange of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Christy Lytle, Jenny Bess, Parker Ange, Kyle Modlin, McKinzie Modlin, Kathy Harrelson, Catherine Harrelson and Amanda Kamer; great grandchildren, Chase Potter, J.R. Potter, Nicholos Bess, Taylor Bess and Braylon Modlin.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth. Burial will follow in Jamesville Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 1:00 to 2:30 pm at Maitland Funeral Home and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Jamesville Christian Church or Jamesville Fire & Rescue.
