Obituary for Phillip Mitchell Reason
Phillip Mitchell Reason, 72, of Jamesville died Thursday, August 18, 2016, at his residence in Jamesville.
Born July 23, 1944 in Martin County he was the son of the late Jennings Bryant Reason and Ludie Mae Williams Reason and was preceded in death by his brothers, William Reason and Gorman Reason. Phillip was a retired paper maker with 40 years service with Weyerhaeuser Corporation and a member of Jamesville Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran with service in Vietnam, member of Amvets Post 227 and life time member of the Moose Lodge.
His family includes his wife, Mary Lee Corey Reason of Jamesville, N.C.; daughter, Melissa Reason Maxwell and husband Alvin of Washington, N.C.; son, Rufus Mitchell Reason and wife Tracey of Williamston, N.C.; sisters, Nina R. Tucker and Vivian R. Leggett both of Jamesville, N.C. and Elizabeth R. Long of Williamston, N.C.; brothers, Gerald Reason of Chesapeake, Va., Jimmy Reason of Williamston, N.C.; grandchildren, Caroline Reason, Bradley Reason, Alissa Maxwell, Brittany Squires and husband Josh.
Funeral service will be held Monday, August 22, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Jamesville Baptist Church with Mack Crisp and Adron Modlin officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Tice Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 21, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Jamesville Baptist Church and other times at the residence.
