Obituary for Neta Mae Spruill Hendrix
Neta Mae Spruill Hendrix, 78, of Plymouth died Monday, June 1, 2015, at Washington County Hospital in Plymouth. Born March 9, 1937 in Washington County she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Spruill and Lela Davenport Spruill and was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Hendrix; sister, Reba S. Tess and brother, Ronnie Spruill. Neta was a retired deputy clerk with the Washington County Clerk of Superior Court for twenty-two years and a member of Plymouth Church of the Nazarene. She loved poetry and drawing, but her main love was the celebration of Christmas. Her family includes her daughters, Melody H. Tucker and husband Craig of Columbia, N.C., Kris H. Worley and husband Steven of Ft. Pierce, FL. and Billie H. Council and husband Ashley of Jamesville, N.C.; sons, Mark T. Hendrix and wife Stephanie of Plymouth, N.C. and Rayse E. Hendrix and wife Cynthia of Plymouth, N.C.; sister, Margaretta J. Modlin of Jamesville, N.C.; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Plymouth Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Steve Creech officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Plymouth Church of the Nazarene and other times at the residence of her son Mark T. Hendrix. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
