Obituary for McKinzy Jackson Tetterton, Sr.
McKinzy Jackson Tetterton, Sr., 83, of Jamesville died Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Born July 4, 1933 in Beaufort County he was the son of the late David Allen Tetterton and Eva Chambers Tetterton and was preceded in death by his brothers, James A. Tetterton and Delmar C. Tetterton; sisters, Annie Mae T. Smith, Ruth T. Linton, Doris T. Sawyer and Cora Tetterton. Mr. Tetterton was a retired boiler operator with Weyerhaeuser Corporation, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and member of First Christian Church of Plymouth.
His family includes his wife, Frances Freeman Tetterton of Jamesville, N.C.; son, McKinzy Jackson "Kenny" Tetterton, Jr. and wife Mitzie of Jamesville, N.C.; daughters, Kitty Tetterton Hedgepeth and husband Chris of Plymouth, N.C., Karen Tetterton McCombs and husband Danny of Jamesville, N.C. and Kristi Tetterton Hicks and husband Ricky of Wilson, N.C.; brothers, Ralph T. Tetterton of Rocky Mount, N.C. and John D. Tetterton of Jamesville, N.C.; grandchildren, Mandy Hedgepeth, Adam Hedgepeth, Denise Steel and husband Paul, Natalie Tetterton, Caroline Tetterton, Keith McCombs and wife Misti and Chad McCombs and wife Chelsea; great grandchildren, Georgia, Tanner and Sadie.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm at First Christian Church, Plymouth with Reverend Doug Stokes officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at First Christian Church Fellowship Hall and other times at the residence.
