Obituary for Mary Robbins Irving
Mrs. Mary Robbins Irving, 88, of Plymouth died unexpectedly Thursday, May 27, 2010, at her residence in Plymouth.
Born April 27, 1922 in Washington County she was the daughter of the late Charles T. Robbins and Mary "Addie" Harris Robbins and was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles T. Robbins, Jr. and William L. Robbins. Mary was a retired registered nurse with Alexandria Hospital and member of Plymouth United Methodist Church. She was past president of the Association of Operating Room Nurses, Virginia Chapter, past president of Plymouth United Methodist Women, Recording Secretary, Lay Delegate Annual Conference, member of Church Administrative Council and supporter of Safe Neighborhood Initiatives.
Her family includes her daughter, Mary M. Vilsack of Chester, MD., grandchildren, Stephen N. Vilsack, Dawn M. Roberts and Robyn L. Dabolish; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Alexandria, Christopher, Sydney, Kristen and Alyssa; special friends Terry and Jane Williams, Jennifer and Ben Noah and Cameron Fueston.
Memorial service will be held Sunday, May 30, 2010 at 4:00 pm at Plymouth United Methodist Church, Plymouth with Dr. Jay Clark and Rev. Terry Williams officiating. Family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Plymouth United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 734, Plymouth, NC 27962 or Safe Neighborhood Initiatives, c/o Plymouth Police Department, Plymouth, NC 27962. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
