Mary Lee Ambrose slipped peacefully from this earth on January 11th, 2024 with her husband and daughter by her side. Born in Washington County on January 28, 1946, she was the oldest child of the late Louis McLean "Mack" Mobley and the late Eula Carrow Mobley.
She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1964 and went to work at Weyerhaeuser as a secretary. After some time spent at home, she started helping her mother-in-law, the late Juanita Ambrose with Granny's Closet and later worked at Brenda's Flowers and Gifts. Her final job was at Food Lion where she had her best friend by her side, the late Diane Satterwaite. Throughout her life she and Bennie traveled all over the United States seeing all the sights and taking their time doing so. She enjoyed walking for exercise, reading, doing her crossword books, and sitting on the front porch with her beloved companion Chewy.
Besides her parents, she is proceeded in death by her brother Buddy Mobley. Surviving, her husband of 58 years, Bennie of the home; daughter, Michelle "Missy" Harrell and husband Jay of Wilson; grandson, J.P. Harrell and wife Olivia of Greenville; granddaughter, Madeline Harrell of Greenville, and sister, Faye Roberson of Plymouth.
At her request, there will not be a visitation or funeral. A service will be held at a later time with just the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
