Obituary for Margaret Stepp Hoffner
Margaret Stepp Hoffner, 92, of Columbia died Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at her residence in the Gum Neck Community.
Born December 16, 1918 in St. Louis, Missouri she was the daughter of the late Robert Nathan Stepp and Sarah VanEsler Stepp and was preceded in death by her husband, Jack George Hoffner; sisters, Selma S. Henderson Nellie S. Miller and Betty Stepp; brothers, John Stepp, Lester Stepp, George Stepp and Leonard Stepp; son-in-law, Charles Bennett. Margaret was a homemaker and member of Gum Neck Church of Christ.
Her family includes her daughters, Darlene H. Sawyer and husband Arnold of Columbia, N.C. and Mary H. Bennett of Harrington, WA.; sons, Robert J. Hoffner and wife Patricia of Brentwood, CA., James M. Hoffner and wife Kathy of Manteo, N.C. and John D. Hoffner and wife Angie of Pinehall, N.C.; sister, Dorothy S. King of Bowling Green, MO.; brothers, Robert Stepp of Concord, CA. and James Stepp of Bloomfield, MO.; grandchildren, John Bennett and wife Dawn, Celeste Miller and husband Scott, Robyn Hoffner Spears and husband Daron, Renee H. Thomas and husband Donnie, Rochelle Hoffner Henson and husband Tom, Regan Hoffner Franklin and husband Kris, Paul Beals and wife Lydia, Jolene Sawyer Spencer and husband Greg, John M. Hoffner, Megan Hoffner and Justin Nelson; great grandchildren, Jonathan Bennett, Bailey Bennett, Elizabeth Bennett, Jacqueline Bennett, Allyson Spears, Brayden Spears, Addison Thomas, Mackenzie Thomas, Paige Henson,Ty Henson, Eric Beals, Layla Beals, Sara Spencer and Gage Spencer.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, January 1, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Azalea Memorial Gardens Columbia with Joey Brickhouse officiating. Family will receive friends on Friday, December 31, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell and other times at the residence. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell.
