Obituary for Louis Leroy Sitterson, Sr.
Louis Leroy Sitterson, Sr., 95, of Plymouth died Monday, November 24, 2014, at Ridgewood Manor in Washington. Born April 10, 1919 in Washington County he was the son of the late Louis Napolean Sitterson and Mattie Freeman Sitterson and was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Phelps Sitterson; son, Kenneth Landis Sitterson; brothers, James H. Sitterson and Phillip E. Sitterson; sisters, Elizabeth S. Woodley, Marie S. Marriner and Alice S. Mason. Leroy was a retired maintenance supervisor with Weyerhaeuser Corporation, a U. S. Navy Veteran serving in World War II and member of Plymouth United Methodist Church. His family includes his daughter, Nila Sitterson Hutchinson and husband Chap of Conway, S.C.; son, Louis Leroy Sitterson, Jr. and wife Marisa of Williamston, N.C.; special companion, Magalene Arnold of Washington, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Sue Sitterson; sister, Shirley S. Patrick of Marietta, GA.; ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Friday, November 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Plymouth United Methodist Church with Dr. Jay Clark and Reverend Terry Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Friday, November 28, 2014 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.at Plymouth United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Wanda Williams, 1202 East Main Street, Plymouth, N.C. 27962. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
