Obituary for Lloyd Saunders Hardison, Sr.
Lloyd Saunders Hardison, Sr., 90, of Plymouth died Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Born April 18, 1926 in Martin County he was the son of the late Henry Lloyd Hardison and Mary Louise Lilley Hardison and was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Bateman Hardison; sisters, Pearl Spencer, Katie Norwood, Thelma Keel, Zelda Jeager and Essie Griffin; brothers, George Hardison, Nick Hardison, Garland Hardison, William Hardison and Vernon Hardison. Lloyd was the owner of Hardison's Exxon and Grocery Store from 1954 until his retirement in 1994 and was a member of First Baptist Church.
His family includes his daughters, Sandra H. Turnage and husband DeLeon of Dunn, N.C.and Annabel H. Knott and husband Ed of Jamesville, N.C.; sons, Lloyd S. Hardison, Jr. and wife Cindy of Raleigh, N.C., Timothy E. Hardison and wife Cheri of Fort Worth, TX. and James T. Hardison of Wilmington, N.C.; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 3:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Plymouth with Reverend Jimmy Hagwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Bateman Family Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 400, Plymouth, N.C. 27962.
