Obituary for Leslie Gorden 'Lou' Papple
Leslie Gorden "Lou" Papple died unexpectedly on March 23, 2011 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville. Born September 12, 1950 in Brantford, Ontario, Canada. He was the Loving and Proud son of the late Len and Connie Papple; husband of Robbin Papple; father of Sarah Papple Csekey and William Erskine Papple; grandfather of Isaac, Abigale and Oscar Csekey; brother of David and Mark Papple; uncle of David and Linda Papples children, Daniel, Adam and Laura and uncle to Mark's children, Mark Jr. and Harry. Leslie Papple was an artist and worked in his family's business the Country Squire Inn. He went on to become an accomplished iron worker (high structural) and carpenter until his recent retirement. Leslie Papple cared deeply for family, friends and nature. A truly good man who will always be missed and remembered well by those who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth with Reverend Henry C. Burdick, III officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Community Lunch Box c/o Grace Episcopal Church, 106 Madison Street, Plymouth, N.C. 27962 or charity of choice.
