Obituary for Leon Clifford Workman
Leon Clifford Workman, 70, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2021, at Vidant Inpatient Hospice in Greenville.
Born on April 9, 1950 to the late Clifford and Lula Workman, Leon was a life-long resident of Tyrrell County and was well loved by the community. He held former positions in truck driving, from which he retired. Known for his warm nature and willingness to always help others, Leon was someone everyone knew and could depend on when things got tough.
He enjoyed working around his home and yard throughout his entire life and could be found fishing on the ditch bank, working in his camp, listening to George Jones, or reading a good book when it was time to relax. Leon was also a talented artist who shared his gifts with family and friends on multiple occasions. It was always a treat to receive a Leon Workman original.
Leon is survived by his wife, Lucinda Cahoon Workman, and his precious daughter, Kimberly Lynn Workman. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Workman, and leaves behind a sister, Susie Chaffin, as well as a large extended family of nieces, nephews and other loved ones.
In lieu of a service, at his request, his wife and daughter will hold a private remembrance to celebrate the life and love of this amazing man.
Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell.
