Obituary for Kathryn Geneil Clay Maska
Kathryn Geneil Clay Maska, 84, of Creswell died Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Three Rivers Health and Rehabilitation Center in Windsor.
Born October 22, 1926 in Union, South Carolina she was the daughter of the late Roy Lee Clay and Marie Jolly Clay and was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin C. Maska and brother, William Frank Clay. Geneil served for thirty-eight years as a Foreign Service Secretary with the U.S. Department Of State and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Norfolk.
Her family includes her sister, Judy Clay Marriner and husband Tommy of Creswell, N.C.; brother, Gerald Roy Clay and wife Esther of Mount Pleasant, PA.; many loving nieces and nephews and special nurse, Cynthia Spivey.
Funeral service will be held Friday, April 8, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell with Larry Wayne Davenport and Darrell Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow on Sunday, April 10, 2011 in Union Memorial Gardens, Union, South Carolina. Family will receive friends on Friday, April 8, 2011 following the service at the funeral home and other times at her sister, Judy's residence. Flowers are welcomed or donations may be made to Mid-Atlantic Christian University, 715 Poindexter Street, Elizabeth City, N.C. 27909.
