Obituary for Kathleen Craddock Spencer
Kathleen Craddock Thompson Spencer, 91 of Plymouth, died Thursday, April 21, 2022, at her residence in Plymouth.
Born March 12, 1931 in Tyrrell County to the late Guy Cecil Craddock and Blanche Norman Craddock. She was married to the late Joe Thompson and secondly to the late Edwin Spencer. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Chris Thompson; son, Joseph Gray Thompson, Jr.; granddaughter, Heather Thompson and brother, Charles Craddock.
She is survived by a brother, Harrison Guy Craddock of Belhaven; a daughter, Jo Thompson Teel (John) of Bethel; grandchildren, Michele Strickland of Farmville, Marla Snider (Mark) of Newcastle, Oklahoma and Tre Teel (Crystal) of Bethel; great grandchildren, Josh Strickland, Jacob Johnson, Adam Snider and Ava Snider.
Kathleen worked most of her years at the A&P Grocery Store. Later she served in many volunteer roles including the Hospital Auxiliary and the Nursing Home Auxiliary. She was a member of First Original Free Will Baptist Church. She also leaves behind her constant companion, "Lil Bit" her loving cat.
Special thanks to her friends and caregivers, Lisa Asby, Sandra Lee and Ellen Swain and an incredible care team, Carol Sanders, Ty Sanders, Sandra Allen and Emily Stanfield.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at First Original Free Will Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Taylor officiating. Family will receive friends at the church following the service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Original Free Will Baptist Church or the Plymouth Fire Department.
