Obituary for Hazel McKeel Sitterson
Hazel McKeel Sitterson, 83, of Plymouth died Friday, March 6, 2015, at Roanoke Landing in Plymouth. Born September 26, 1931 in Pitt County she was daughter of the late Milford L. McKeel and Eva Bazemore McKeel and was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Gordon Sitterson; sister, Louise M. Brucali and brother, William McKeel. Mrs. Sitterson was co-owner of Peeles Cleaners of Plymouth and member of First Christian Church. She loved cooking, gardening and sewing. Her family includes her daughters, Nancy Sitterson Sandy of Plymouth, N.C., Carolyn Sue Wobbleton and husband Gary of Ahoskie, N.C. and Tommie Gail Barnes and husband Moose of Plymouth, N.C.; sister, Joyce M. Norman of Chesapeake, Va.; brother, James McKeel of Wilmington, N.C.; grandchildren, James Wobbleton, Jr., Nancy Lynn Conner, Kenneth 'Frankie' Barnes, Jr. and Brandon Scott Barnes; great grandchildren, Brittany Conner, Megan Conner, Ginger Conner, Morgan Barnes and Gage Barnes and her loving cat, Tiger. Funeral service will be held Monday, March 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth with Glenn Brickhouse and Reverend V. Tom Banks officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her daughter, Tommie Gail Barnes. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
