Obituary for Fred Hulan Williams
Fred Hulan Williams, 84, of Plymouth died Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. Born October 20, 1930 in Hyde County he was the son of the late Mack H. Williams and Alice Hopkins Williams and was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Lewis Williams; daughter, Sandra Gail Williams; brother, Mack H. Williams, Jr.; sisters, Maxine Williams Bowen Edwards and Madeline VanGyzen; niece, Johanna Boyd. Fred was a retired paper mill superintendent with forty years of service with Weyerhaeuser Corporation. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of First Baptist Church. He was a former Sunday School teacher, Deacon and Trustee. His family includes his son, Hulan Williams of Raleigh, N.C.; brother, Cecil B. Williams of Pamlico Beach, N.C.; niece, Cecile Williams Rawls of Greenville, N.C.; nephews, Rodger S. Williams of Ashburn, VA., Mack H. Williams, III of Creswell, N.C. and Paul VanGyzen of Pantego, N.C. Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Plymouth with Reverend Jimmy Hagwood, Reverend Dennis Burton and Reverend Terry Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at First Baptist Church and other times at the residence. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to the North Carolina Baptist Children's Home. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
