Obituary for Frances Mizelle Ange

Frances Mizelle Ange, 93, of Jamesville, affectionately known as Mama, Memaw, and Tissy went to be with her Savior on Tuesday, October 18, 2022.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Edward Ange Sr., on May 17, 1989 and her daughter, Rhonda Ange Sawyer on August 10, 2021, her loving sister, Edna Maude Stevenson, and brother J.M. Mizelle.


She is survived and dearly loved by her son Millard Edward Ange Jr., (M.E.) and wife Annette Ange; five grandchildren, Andrea Ange (Phil), Tawney Ange (Krystle), Justin Sawyer, Casey Sawyer, Marcia Wynn (John); six great grandchildren, Ryan Ange, Kaylee Ange, Emily Ange, Tucker Ange, Leah Harrison, and Austin Harrison; her nieces, Jean Hardison and Diane Reason and her caretaker and friend Barbara James.


Frances was born in Jamesville Township on September 13,1929 to Maude Elizabeth Hinson Mizelle and James Milton Mizelle.  She lived her life in Jamesville and was a devoted member of Mount Olive F.W.B. Church, where she loved playing the piano for sixty plus years for all services, as well as the church choir, the boosters and was active in Ladies Auxiliary.  In her younger years she also played for the Eastern Aires and The Gospelettes Ladies Quartet and her close friends, Jeannette Jordan, Betty Elks, and Shirley Harris.  Throughout the years she also played the piano for many weddings and funerals.  She was a generous hostess and loved to entertain by cooking many wonderful meals for her family.  She always talked about how pretty her food was.  Memaw's fudge was well known and enjoyed by all, and making it was one of her favorite past times.


Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Olive F.W.B. Church with Robert Travis officiating. Burial will follow at the Ange Family Cemetery.  Family will receive friends at Mount Olive F.W.B. Church from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service and other times at the residence.


Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
