Obituary for Esther Corinne Modlin
Mrs. Esther Corinne Harrison Modlin, 79, of Plymouth died Saturday, September 21, 2019, at Roanoke Landing in Plymouth.
Born October 17, 1939 in Washington County she was the daughter of the late Clayton Harrison and Esther Askew Harrison and was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Pamela Berry. Her early working career was a department manager for a military base exchange, and later she worked at Plymouth Garment Company as a seamstress and was a member of Hope Free Will Baptist Church.
Her family includes her loving and dedicated husband David Bryant Modlin of Plymouth, N.C.; daughter, Teresa Modlin Slocumb and husband Henry of Belhaven, N.C.; sons, David Wayne Modlin and wife Gwen of Plymouth, N.C., Howard Neil Modlin and wife Barbara of New Bern, N.C.; brothers, Buddy Harrison and Tony Harrison and wife Janice both of Plymouth, N.C.; sisters, Marie Respess and husband James Earl, Connie Respess and husband Tony both of Plymouth, N.C., Betty Lou Jones of New Bern, N.C.; grandchildren, Julia Lanier, Andrea Taylor, Tara Wood, Jerrica Ogly, Neil Modlin, Bryant Modlin, Melissa Modlin, Matthew Ducello, Ily Ducello, Kimberly Jones; great grandchildren, Trey, Shane, Gunner, Bryson, Ramses, Ariana, Masen and Maverick.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Hope Free Will Baptist Church, Plymouth with Pastors Leonard Bowers and Sherman Branch officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Hope Free Will Baptist Church and other times at the residence. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to Hope Free Will Baptist Church.
