Obituary for Ervin Benjamin Barber
Ervin Benjamin Barber, 79, of Jamesville died Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Born November 23, 1932 in Martin County he was the son of the late Georgie Benjamin Barber and Daisy Jackson Barber and was preceded in death by his sisters, Ella Barber and Sarah B. Price. Ervin was a retired logger and farmer and a member of Family Worship Center of the Assembly of God. He was an active member of Pinetree Hunting Club and BarberTown Hunting Club. His family includes his wife, Merley Dean Elks Barber of Jamesville, N.C.; daughter, Vicky B. Rochelle of Jamesville, N.C.; sons, Ervin D. Barber and wife Karen, Johnny M. Barber and wife Sheri, Travis L. Barber and wife Valerie all of Jamesville, N.C., Arlis W. Barber and wife Allison of Concord, N.C., Ricky G. Barber of Tyner, N.C.; sisters, Della B. Leggett, Mary B. Whitaker, Mattie B. Whitaker, Martha B. Williams all of Jamesville, N.C., Linda B. Brett of Windsor, N.C.; brother, Johnny P. Barber of Jamesville, N.C.; grandchildren, Shane Rochelle, Sonny Rochelle, Brandy Barber, Chris Barber, Tray Barber, Katy Barber, Josh Barber, Cody Price, Jacob Barber and Jenny Barber;great grandchildren, Lisa Mozingo, Zack Rochelle, Alex Barber, Bricen Rochelle, June Price, Caleb Rochelle, Wyatt Price and Noah Cox. Funeral service will be held Friday, December 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Family Worship Center of the Assembly of God, Jamesville with Evangelist Arlis Barber, Pastor Johnny Barber, Pastor John Cooper and Pastor Ted Nehrenberg officiating. Burial will follow in Jamesville Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth and other times at the residence. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
